Reiki

Reiki is a method of natural healing based on the use of universal life force.Practitioners use a light touch to channel healing energy to the recipient relieving physical and emotional pain to promote spiritual clarity.

Reiki speeds the healing process and balances the body's energy. Reiki is not a form of massage, treatment requires no need to remove any clothing except any that may restrict your comfort or breathing.Reike treatment is given by the practitioners placing their hands gently on or around your body in a pre-determined sequence of hand manoeuvres, which are non-intrusive and cover the front and back of your body.

You may feel sensations over the practitioners hands or in other parts of your body. You may feel heat tingling, coolness, throbbing or other sensations, or you may feel nothing at all. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.

What is Reike?

In Western Reiki, it is taught that Reiki works in conjunction with the meridian energy lines and chakras, from this we can surmise that reikes roots lie within Budhism, through the use of the hand-positions, which correspond to the seven major chakras on the body.

These hand-positions are used both on the front and back of the body, and can include specific areas. Usui the founder of reike used only five formal hand-positions, which focused on the head and neck.

After Reiki had been given first to the head and neck area, specific areas of the body where imbalances were present would then be treated. The use of the chakras is widespread within Western Reiki, as it concentrates more on treating specific areas of the body after using techniques such as Byosen-ho and Reiji-ho, which are used to find areas of disease in the auras and physical body.
